FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get started?

Getting started begins with completing the Contact Me form on this website. This gives me a chance to learn a bit about what you’re looking for, answer any initial questions, and begin to assess whether working together would be a good mutual fit.

If it seems appropriate to move forward, we can then schedule your first consultation appointment from there.

What should I expect during the first session?

Your first visit is a 90-minute consultation where we will:

  • Explore what brings you in
  • Review your history
  • Discuss your goals for therapy

It’s also a chance to experience what it’s like to work together.
If I’m not the best fit for your needs, I’ll provide a thoughtful referral.

What types of concerns do you help with?

I work with adults and adolescents (15+) on concerns such as:

  • Anxiety and persistent worry
  • Social anxiety and avoidance
  • Depression and mood difficulties
  • Low self-esteem and self-defeating patterns
  • Trauma and post-traumatic stress
  • Relationship challenges
  • Family conflict
  • Major life transitions
  • Work or school stress and burnout
  • Chronic procrastination
  • Emotional patterns from early experiences
  • Building coping skills and resilience
  • Self-understanding and personal growth
  • Applying insight in daily life

What is your approach to therapy?

I draw from a range of approaches—including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic psychotherapy, supportive therapy, trauma-informed care, and integrative methods—tailored to each individual’s unique needs.

My goal is to create a safe, collaborative space where we can explore patterns, emotions, and life experiences while building practical skills for meaningful change.

Do you prescribe medication?

Yes. When appropriate, I provide medication support as part of a thoughtful, integrated approach to care.

How often will we meet?

We will decide together on a pace that best supports your needs and goals.

Many patients begin with regular weekly sessions, and we can adjust frequency over time depending on the nature of the work.

What session formats do you offer?

  • In-Person — In office near Greenspring Station, Lutherville-Timonium, MD 21093
  • Teletherapy — Secure, HIPAA-compliant video sessions
  • Hybrid — A mix of in-person and virtual

Not sure? We can discuss what’s best for you anytime.

How long will therapy last?

The length of therapy depends on your goals and the nature of what you’re working through.

  • If your concerns are more recent or focused, therapy may last a few months.
  • For challenges that have developed over years, longer-term work often provides the deeper insight and sustained change needed for lasting improvement.

We’ll decide together on a pace that feels supportive, sustainable, and aligned with your goals.

Do you accept insurance?

I do not bill insurance directly, but I provide itemized receipts for possible out-of-network reimbursement.
Check with your provider for details on your coverage.

What is your cancellation policy?

I do reserve your appointment time exclusively for you. So, I do kindly ask for a 72-hour notice (3 business days) if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment in order to avoid being charged for the session.

What if I’m nervous about starting therapy?

That’s completely understandable. Beginning therapy often comes with some uncertainty.

My goal is to provide a space that is steady, thoughtful, and attuned, where we can work together to understand what you’re experiencing and how best to help.
